- headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida,
worked with C-Grams to install AccessPoint in a General Atomics fusion reactor
plant for collecting and displaying 200,000 points of reactor data. They have
also installed AccessPoint in the Elkem
metals manufacturing plant in West Virginia for productivity improvements.
Modcomp has facilities in Pennsylvania, Georgia and overseas in the United
Kingdom, and Singapore all of which are working with AccessWare.

Florida Cities
Water Co - offers water and waste water
services to residential, commercial and industrial customers in the Fort Myers
area. The Lee Country Division of Florida Cities Water wanted to improve its
operations and upgrade three of the slow, inflexible and failure prone SCADA
systems. System Integrator, Curry Controls, chose AccessWare software and
Modicon PLC's for this solution. AccessWare functionality automatically updates
graphical displays and provides reports of process data. Remote well pump
control locations are tied together using and RTU wireless modem network. The
Florida Cities system is unique in that remote to host operations are standard
off-the-shelf products. The software and hardware components are easily
maintained and enhanced by the utility personnel.
FOOD
Florida Department
of Agriculture - orange juice sampling system
was installed by Curry Controls for over thirty orange juice quality monitor
billings systems. They use AccessPoint and Informix for batch process control.
Supplier juice testing information for reporting is provided faster and more
accurately for billing. The cost of installation is easily saved with the
improved billing productivity. The AccessPoint products are installed in all the
Florida Orange Juice Concentrate Plants where they test the juice for acid and
sugar information. The remote plant data is automatically summarized and
monitored by the Department of Agriculture. The AccessPoint application software
is an important part of the Department of Agriculture testing controls.

Conoco
- in Lafayette, Louisiana has installed five
AccessPoint and seven View Operator systems for their offshore production
controls. The system is also designed to support maximum production during
hurricane situations.

El Paso Natural Gas
- Integrator Curry Controls assisted AccessWare with
the first AccessPoint ShadowPath redundancy and DOS/Windows View Operator (MMI)
product. Curry determined that AccessPoint could be easily used with the unique
El Paso remote RTUs while providing redundant ShadowPath real time database
servers. The ethernet connected local NCD X-Windows graphics terminals and modem
remote (DOS/Windows) clients are both connected to the AccessPoint server for
fast information. The Curry/AccessWare project team brought an experienced set
of capabilities that provide consultation, education and integration of products
and services.
Energy North
- A natural gas distributor located in Manchester, New
Hampshire. C-Grams is the system integrator. Energy North uses the AccessWare
products for SCADA functionality, production of reports, and to tie five remote
locations together over a Wide Area Network. Each geographic location has its
own day time operations crew and it own SCADA terminal. Each satellite must be
able to view the entire system operation parameters. The system includes 1,100
miles of pipe, 65.3 residential customers and 100 large user customers. The
AccessWare system provides automated management of all required functions,
offering an open environment with distributed software capability.
Pemex LNG
- uses failover redundancy systems implemented by
Grupo Simpsa in Mexico. The system is designed as a redundant system for Liquid
Natural Gas truck loading at Pemex.
People's Gas
- located in Florida is a gas distribution company
that purchases gas at many take-off locations from Florida Gas, a division of
Enron, and sells the gas to other utilities and industrial customers. They must
monitor the purchase and sales locations of real time through put information.
Like Energy North, People's Gas is divided up geographically and each site must
be able to view the entire system operation. The People's Gas project involved
the design and installation of a system which would provide SCADA functionality,
automatically produce required reports of production and usage data in a
relational database and tie remote locations together over a Wide Area Network.
AccessPoint software was also selected because of its platform independence,
capacity pricing with distributed flexibility for easy expansion. The system was
installed at a minimal cost with no disruption to the daily operation.
